New holiday decorations for children’s oncology ward at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem

Our talented, long-time volunteer Shira Gutentag has done it again! New breathtaking creations for the Jewish New Year holiday season have been hung from the hospital ward’s ceiling and windows: colorful apples and honey containers, as well as Sukkot greenery, just as if the children were at home and not in the hospital during the holiday season.

Many of the children’s parents told us that these decorations help them to feel and remain connected to the holiday celebrations taking place outside the hospital’s confines, by bringing a holiday atmosphere into the children’s oncology ward.

As each holiday season arrives these decorations are replaced by new “scenery” to match the upcoming festival. For all this we once again extend a heart-felt and huge “Thank You” to our dedicated volunteer, Shira Gutentag!
