This was the text of the award that Zohar Halah received from the Health Minister.
Zohar began to volunteer in Zichron Menachem when he was still a boy, in Zichron Menachem’s first recreation camp in 1991. Since then, Zohar has taken increasingly greater responsibility on himself and is currently the coordinator of the recreation camps in Israel and abroad, in which some 120 ill children participate while still undergoing active treatment. This project is of course an exceedingly complex one that entails a great deal of responsibility. Throughout the year, Zohar organizes the volunteer counselors, directs them in the various activities with the children and coordinates the psychological support groups for the volunteers themselves.
Zohar Halah (30) serves in the army as a Border Police officer, and is married and has two children. He and his wife spend their vacation time working for Zichron Menachem.
The award ceremony was held on September 27, 2006 at the Nahariya hospital, and was attended by many of Zichron Menachem’s staff members and children.
Miri and Haim Erenthal, the founders of Zichron Menachem, received the Health Minister’s Award for Volunteers in 1991.
