For many of these parents who participate in the support group, this was a special experience to leave their children at home and to go out for an entertaining evening.  Many of these parents do not usually allow themselves the luxury of going out for a relaxing evening; this support group program therefore gives the parents a “legitimate” reason to enjoy themselves and relax.
