Deputy Minister Ravitz met with Chaim Ehrental, Chairman
of Zichron Menachem and with the staff of the educational-recreational-rehabilitation
Day Center. Ehrental explained the overall scope of Zichron Menachem to
Rabbi Ravitz, and then a number of parents of children who are sick with
cancer spoke with Ravitz. The parents described the tremendous help and
support which they receive on a daily basis through the many educational-recreational-rehabilitation
programs and activities which Zichron Menachem gives to their child, siblings
and the parents, as well.
Following Ravitz’ meeting with the parents, he was given a tour
of the various wings of the Day Center building – the Medical Wing,
Education Wing, Music Wing, Sports Wing, Computers Center, Library, etc.
The Deputy Minister was able to observe at close hand the wide scope of
our programs and activities.
The Deputy Minister expressed his great admiration and appreciation
about everything he saw. Ravitz mentioned that in the course of his
ministerial duties he has visited many different institutions which
provide welfare and assistance to needy populations in Israel. He confessed,
though, that he was very touched by his visit to the Day Center, but
not only by the various states of health of the young children he saw.
What impressed Ravitz the most was the tremendous amount of dedication
and giving which he witnessed at our Day Center.
Rabbi Ravitz expressed his appreciation to Ehrental and the Day Center
staff for offering him the opportunity to observe at close range the
Center’s broad scope of activities, and for enabling him to better
understand the crucial role played by Zichron Menachem in assisting
cancer-stricken children and their families.
