The Sherut Leumi girls and their parents met with
Chaim and Miri Ehrental, the founders and leaders of “Zichron Menachem.”
Joining them were Nechama Marzel, the girls’ director at the ZM
Day Center, and Miri Chananel, ZM’s social worker who helps these
volunteers on an individual and group basis as the facilitator of the
ZM Support Group for Volunteers.
This was the second meeting this year between the ZM administrators,
the young adult volunteers and their parents. The purpose of the meeting
was to summarize the girls’ important and superb work up until
now. Parents were updated and had the pleasure of hearing glowing reports
about their daughters’ important contribution to ZM’s successful
programs and activities.
These young volunteers are working within a framework that can often
be difficult and stressful, due to the serious condition and nature
of the sick children’s state of health. Despite the many challenges
they face, these young volunteers have been performing their work in
a most valuable and excellent manner.
Rabbi Yosef Carmel spoke to the group, his words doing much to contribute
to the success of the evening. Everyone present enjoyed a lovely dinner,
after which a short movie was shown - a new film recently made by ZM
- which depicts the activities and accomplishments of the Zichron Menachem
organization.
