The young women descended from chilly Jerusalem to
the warm Judean desert, to enjoy the magnificent oasis and nature reserve
at “Nachal David.” Afterwards, the group of young ZM volunteers
was pampered at the sulfur baths at the “Chamei Ein Gedi”
spa. A sumptuous luncheon followed at the “Hod Hotel” located
next to the Dead Sea.
A leisure day of this sort gives these wonderful young women a pause
from their intensive daily work in which they are so completely involved
in non-stop caring and giving to the ZM children. Their work is full
of countless challenges and can be difficult at times, especially considering
the age of these young women who are only 18 or 19 years old during
their year of volunteer service.
A day like this gives the ZM Sherut Leumi volunteers an opportunity
to unwind, relax and recharge their physical and emotional “batteries.”
We would like to thank Rabbi Shlomo Landau and the proprietors of the
“Chamei Ein Gedi” spa and the “Hod Hotel” for
their generous hospitality to our ZM volunteers during this very relaxing
and invigorating day.
