Parents deserve a break…

Dozens of couples, all coping with a child who has cancer, all part of Zichron Menachem support groups, enjoyed a long weekend up north. The group represents every walk of life in Israel: religious and not, Left and right…participants take part in exercises bringing them closer to each other, learning to skip over barriers and push them aside. Together, they learn to see the inside the person, not the outer layers.
A healthy breakfast, then a hike along the Elal stream…followed by a wonderful Shabbat at the Kinar hotel on the banks of the Kinneret.
On Motzei Shabbat, an amazing sound and light show on the water…prayers at ancestral graves…workshops and some sleep. On Sunday, horseback riding, "buggy" trip, a delicious lunch and home rejuvenated by each other's company.
