The Zichron Menachem Guest House in Jerusalem serves the needs
of parents of sick children living outside the greater Jerusalem area who are
undergoing cancer treatment in Jerusalem hospitals. The Guest House facilities
are comparable to a luxury hotel and are offered to the sick child’s family
free-of-charge, like all other ZM programs and activities.
This Guest House has been in operation since 1992. It first began its service
in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Kiryat Moshe, in a penthouse in the same building
that housed the ZM Day Center at that time. In 1998 the ZM Guest House changed
quarters to the Bayit Vegan – Ramat Sharett neighborhood in Jerusalem.
ZM had the unique opportunity to be able to purchase this building, which contains
12 separate guestroom units with adjoining bathroom suites. The Guest House also
has a large lobby, kitchen and dining room for the use and enjoyment of all its
guests.
The Guest House is located in a quiet neighborhood near the Hadassah Ein Kerem
and Shaare Zedek Medical Centers, making it all the more accessible and convenient
to the sick child’s parents. The guest rooms look towards the beautiful
southern vistas of Jerusalem.
Since its inception, the ZM Guest House offered its hospitality
to many families of children from all parts of Israel who have come to Jerusalem
for cancer treatments - often for extended periods of time.
